Matte or Gloss PPF: Choosing the Finish
Choose a PPF finish by the appearance you want to preserve or change, then check the coverage needed for a consistent result. Gloss and matte film can look very different over the same paint. Physical samples and a panel plan are more useful than choosing from a screen alone.

Consider adjacent panels
Matte film applied to only part of a glossy panel creates a visible finish transition. Even a complete covered panel may contrast with an uncovered neighbor. If a finish change is the goal, review the whole-car appearance, including bumpers, mirrors, recesses and excluded trim, before selecting a partial package.
Inspect samples in more than one light
Paint color, metallic flake and lighting affect the result. Ask to view suitable samples in daylight and indoor light if available. A digital simulator illustrates coverage but cannot guarantee the exact sheen, texture or color impression on your vehicle. Confirm the actual product rather than selecting only a category name.
Match care to the finish
Products intended to add shine may be inappropriate for a matte appearance. Ask which wash, spot-cleaning and protective products are compatible with the installed film. If combining a coating with film, confirm that it preserves the intended look. Damage or panel replacement can also create appearance-matching questions later.
