A clean-looking vehicle can still carry bonded contamination, old protection or wash marks. Cleaning and decontamination prepare the surface; polishing changes the finish. Ask which of these steps is included, what the inspection found and whether correction is optional. A lower price may describe a smaller scope rather than a poor product.
Coverage changes the comparison
Paint, wheel faces, wheel barrels, glass and trim are separate surfaces. A quote that says ceramic coating may cover exterior painted panels only. Request a panel or surface list and note any exclusions. Vehicle size and access also matter: coating a tall SUV involves different handling from a small coupe.
Compare the complete ownership plan
Ask for the product name, package terms and maintenance instructions in writing. A longer advertised duration is not a promise of maintenance-free protection. Inspections, cleaning and any renewal work can affect the ownership cost. Keep the written scope so you can compare a later maintenance recommendation with what was originally installed.
